EU chấp nhận giám sát cuộc bầu cử lịch sử tại Myanmar

Trong một tuyên bố, EU thông báo đã ký một Bản ghi nhớ với Myanmar về cử quan sát viên tới giám sát cuộc bầu cử.

Đại sứ EU tại Myanmar Roland Kobia cho hay: "Giám sát cuộc bầu cử là hành động thể hiện mong muốn của EU hỗ trợ cuộc bầu cử minh bạch, uy tín và toàn diện, một phần trong chính sách củng cố nền dân chủ, pháp quyền và nhân quyền của chúng tôi."

Cuộc bầu cử Quốc hội Myanmar vào ngày 8/11 tới sẽ là cuộc bầu cử quy mô toàn quốc đầu tiên có sự tham gia của phe đối lập của bà Aung San Suu Kyi sau 1/4 thế kỷ, đồng thời được xem là cột mốc quan trọng cho quá trình chuyển tiếp chính trị ở Mynmar./.
